Phlip van den Dool

Phlip van den Dool (b. 1950) developed in the 1980s on the Free Academy for Visual Arts in The Hague in the field of the arts. This he did in addition to his work as a physical engineer in the field of acoustics at Cauberg-Huygen and Movares. Watercolor, oil paint, pen drawings and screen prints are techniques used by him. In recent years, with the help of the Ipad, among other things, he has focused on combining art with digital techniques. Photography and digitization of drawings also belong to this field of activity. The fast way of working with a lively color palette and new possibilities appeal to him. Phlip lives in Uithoorn.

At the Free Academy of Visual Arts in The Hague/Free Academy Psychopolis he was a participant at Roel Boys, Jaap Kuijpers, Frits Droog and Pien Hazenberg.

The arrival of the IPad in late 2010 spurred the exploration of new creative possibilities. The IPad allows for quick work without having to set up a studio and clean brushes. In addition, the use of color is very appealing and fits in with previous pursuits, such as screen printing. During lost hours, it is easy to do a quick drawing.
